(So it doesn't look exactly like this, but I forgot to take a picture. You get the idea, right? : )
The beauty of the recipe is that it is so easy, and most of what I do is combining already made ingredients, but somehow it turns out to be a hearty dish that Pete really likes with lots of Leftovers.
1 Jar Basil Marinara Sauce (Red Sauce) from Trader Joes
4 Sausages (raw, we use the Old Spaghetti Factory ones sold at Costco)
1 Bag Farfalle Pasta
2 cloves of Garlic (or to taste)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Feta Cheese
- In a stockpot, bring water to boil for pasta.
- In large skillet, heat olive oil on medium high heat.
- With a knife, slice open the casing of the sausage, remove meat, and discard casing.
- When skillet and oil are hot, add sausage meat and break apart into small pieces with back of wooden spoon.
- Add garlic with garlic press to sausage.
- Once meat is no longer red and raw looking, reduce heat to low and cover with lid.
- Clean up mess for a couple minutes
- Add pasta to boiling water and cook by package instructions.
- Every couple minutes, check on sausage and stir it around pan to keep any part from being overly done.
- When there is 5 mins left on the pasta, add jar of pasta sauce directly into skillet. This will heat the sauce and soak up the flavors. (The flavor of the oil from the sausage is really good, but probably not great if you're trying to avoid extra fat. Modify process as needed)
- When pasta is finished cooking, drain water, and combine pasta with sauce in a large bowl.
- Best when served with a sprinkling of Feta on top of individual portion, although Parmesan or other cheese option would probably be good too.
- Enjoy!
What is your favorite easy dish that results in lots of leftovers?

Made this last night and it was delicious! Will definitely make it again. Didn't have Costco sausages but used some from Save Mart and still yummy! (Susan)
