Backyard Update

Pete's been busy. We started here last weekend:

And now we're here, about half a dozen oleanders gone, and minus two metal fence poles:

Don't you want to sit here, soak up some sunshine and enjoy some lemonade? Maybe it's just me. : )

Okay and now looking forward to our plans... We are hoping to build a deck right off of the living room that would be entered from the sliding glass door. Here's a rough sketch up Pete created:

We would like the deck to run from the window of the first guest bedroom to the end of the chimney on the other side. It would be a great place to grill and eat outside. The skinny area to the left would be an extended seating area. On the right we hope to eventually plant a large grass area. To give you an idea of the total proposed area, check out this old sketch up:

In reality, none of the backyard looks anything like that. Also, the area to the very right is much skinnier than shown, has two very large trees (perfect for a hammock), and will not likely have grass even eventually.  But you get the general idea, right? We are super excited to start moving forward in this back area again! I'll keep you posted. : )
